Teaching Philosophy

I believe that effective teaching goes beyond simply disseminating knowledge; it involves empowering students to think critically and nurture their scientific curiosity. This necessitates an individualized, student-focused approach to teaching and learning. My goal is to understand each student and how they learn best. I consider this approach crucial so that every student can reach their full potential, regardless of their race, gender, culture, or class.

What people are saying about Cade in the classroom?

  • “Cade was an extremely good resource and would answer any question to the best of his knowledge and if he couldn't, then he would get an answer through a different resource. I think communication was great in this lab as far as expectations and how to collect plants.”

  • “Cade was extremely helpful in this course. He was pretty much this class's saving grace. Our instructor was very unorganized and unprepared for lecture and lab. Often times, the instructor was unable to answer our questions so Cade would help us. He grasped the material very well and could relay it in a way that I could understand. He is a big part in why I was able to make it through this course without getting a terrible grade. He had to deal with a lot and he took it all in good stride.”

    — Purdue BTNY 316 Plant Anatomy (2017)

  • “Cade was probably one of the best T.A.'s I have had here at Purdue. He really helped me understand what I was supposed to get out of the labs! He should be given award for being an outstanding T.A.!”
